1. Vermont – it’s hard to choose just one place in Vermont, but Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historic Park in Woodstock offers spectacular fall scenery in an interesting historic setting.

2. The Adirondacks, New York – there are 14 scenic byways in this six million acre wilderness area in upstate New York for enjoying the colors. Check out:

3. Glacier National Park, Montana – located in northwest Montana, this immense park has over 700 miles of hiking trails and should have great leaf-viewing through mid- to late October. Another way to see the sites: Drive the 50-mile Going-to-the-Sun Road, which cuts through the park’s stunning interior.
